How to Tackle Limiting Beliefs so You Can Launch A Business With Meaning

So you're thinking about leaving the "safety net" of an hourly or salary job to go into business for yourself... but, you're just not sure if you have what it takes. I have been there and so has so many other business owners.  You feel like there's massive risk involved in taking a step back and being the sole controller of your career.

But why is that?

What about you being in control, makes you nervous?

Is it that you're afraid you won't make as much money? That you'll fail? That people will think negatively of you? Or, possibly, is it that you don't believe in yourself?

It's okay babe, self doubt is something we all feel no matter our personality type: introvert or extrovert- especially when we are about to do something we have never tried before. It's human nature, and it is normal.

In fact, the number one thing that holds people back from pursuing their dreams, is lack of self confidence. And so, more often then not, those people will end up settling for the mundane so they can be comfortable. But I do not want that for you...

How to Embrace Your Flaws and FINALLY be the Face of Your Brand

The thing I hear again and again when working with clients is how uncomfortable they feel putting themselves out there and being the face of their brand. They’re scared they’ll make a mistake, stumble over their words, or they are afraid that the world will see that one thing in their personality that they personally deem as a flaw.

And while we may know that our flaws are magnified in our own eyes, it’s still hard to get over that pimple, or our shy persona, or whatever it may be that we don’t necessarily love about ourselves...

How Gratitude Can Shape Your Business

About two years ago I was invited to join a group of entrepreneurs for a “Gratitude Challenge” on Facebook. We would each post five things we were grateful for each day for 90-days. We were also encouraged not to repeat gratitudes. The idea is that there are always so many things to be grateful for that we shouldn’t need to repeat any of them.

Right away I was excited about this opportunity. Not that I didn’t have the ability to create my own gratitude practice but this afforded me the opportunity for a little extra accountability and to be inspired by the things others were sharing.

Never Say These Things to a Female Entrepreneur

Well.. it happened. I was told by a man (a stranger nonetheless) that I "couldn't possibly" run a business all by myself.

Let me back up. I'll set the scene.

I was minding my own, working hard on a clients project while sitting at a bubble tea shop. He sat next to me and began to ask me questions.

How old are you?
Are you in school?
Do you live around here?

You know, the type that had me not-so-subtly waving my wedding ring around in the air. And, because I need to get better about just being like "Dude, I'm trying to work, can I have some space?" I even brought up...

Work/Life Balance is a Bunch of Bull (and What to Focus on Instead)

Raise your hand if you have been told to create "the perfect work life balance" in your life. *Everyone raises their hand*

Truth bomb, babe: We are way too damn busy to be focusing our energy into figuring out how to implement something into our lives that may not even exist.

Creating this elusive way to living life both inside and outside of work and family, has become somewhat of a fad over the past decade or so. We are taught that we must work hard to succeed but don't work too much because we could risk harming our relationships. BUT, don't focus too much on our relationships either because then we won't ever make a successful living. AH! It's too much!

But, let's look at this a little closer. What is balance, anyway....

How To Add Self Care Into Your Work Day

I remember when I first started working from home and I thought I had all the time in the world to do pretty much whatever I wanted (let's all laugh in unison now..) Pick up friends from the airport? Sure! Sleep in late? Why not! Go grocery shopping in the middle of a Tuesday? Let's do it! Hahaha as if..

With all of the daily tasks firmly penned into my planner it was hard to find that work/life balance thing that I kept hearing people boast about. But what I also realized pretty quickly was that I had to fit self care directly into my work day if I wanted to achieve maximum efficiency and also be a real life working human come dinner time.
