You’ve probably heard this time and time again.
The thing is, you spend hours producing a great quality piece of content, often an article which includes information your target audience is thirsty for. You post it on your blog, and then you post a link to your new content article on social media; on your Facebook page, and perhaps also on your Twitter and LinkedIn pages. And you stop there.
But you’re not getting much headway with this process. Your website traffic is increasing at a painfully slow rate, as well as your social media following, and more importantly, you’re not generating many leads.
The problem with this process is that you are not using the great quality content you’re producing to its maximum potential. You’re sharing it once and stop there. But, that is not a great content marketing strategy.

Let’s consider the great article you have posted on your blog. You can take this article and turn it into a video; shoot a quick video going over the points you have covered in the article. You can then take this video, upload it to YouTube and Facebook, and share the link to the video on social media.
Not so comfortable getting in front of a camera? Fret not! Draw up a slideshow presentation with your article’s main points, and create a screenshare video. And whilst you’re at it, after creating the slide presentation, you can post it to a website like SlideShare.com, with a link back to the blog post on your website of course.
2. Audio / Podcast
You can also make a recording of your article, turning this into a podcast and announcing the availability of this version on social media.
As you broaden your reach and learn more about your target audience, you will discover that different people like to digest information in different ways. Some like reading articles, others like watching videos, and some others like listening to recordings while they’re doing other tasks like walking or jogging for example. Repurposing your content in different formats helps you reach your ideal clients better because you’re making your content available in the way they prefer.
3. Social Media Images
Another easy and super effective way to repurpose your content is to turn it into social media images. Review your article and highlight different key snippets or quotes from it. Turn these different snippets into social media images using an easy image editing tool like Canva.com.
Create images in different sizes to post on different social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. I love using Canva because they have templates ready to use in the appropriate size for the different social networks, so you don’t even have to think about that! Super easy and quick.
4. Facebook Live Series
Doing Lives for Facebook is not only currently very popular, it is also an extremely effective way to generate engagement from your audience, and therefore also expand your reach. If your article covers enough points or tips, you can turn each of these into a 5-minute live video on Facebook.
Let’s imagine your article covers 4 main points, what you can do is post a live video on a Monday giving an introduction to your topic of the week and encouraging your audience to check in everyday that week at a specific time; then Tuesday through Friday post your 5-minute live video at the time you specified, sharing your tip of the day which you would have taken from the article. In the description of every daily live video, you can link back to the blog posts on your website.
